Providing Real Solutions to Business Problems... |
Electronic Mail, or E-Mail, is one of the single most empowering aspects of electronic communications and Internet usage. With e-mail, you can carry on detailed discussions with people any where in the world, bypassing the barriers of different time zones and physical distance. E-mail, when used properly, is an incredibly powerful business tool.
SSSi can provide your company with e-mail, delivering a reliable, cost effective method for implementing enhanced communications both inside and outside your company. We can host your mail on our server with your domain, as, for example, john.doe@yourcompany.com, or we can install a mail server at your location for internal e-mail. We can also link many internal mail systems to the Internet.
E-mail hosted by SSSi can include such advanced features as Auto-Response and Forwarding/Aliasing.
Auto-Response is where an incoming e-mail generates an immediate, preformatted response to the sender. This is typically used to let the sender know that their message arrived at it's intended destination and that the e-mail will be acted upon.
E-mail Forwarding/Aliasing is a method to automatically send an e-mail on to another recipient. If the original recipient never actually reads the mail, it is an Alias. If both the original recipient and the subsequent recipients actually get the message, it is a Forward.
An application of the Alias functionality might be to have an e-mail address of sales@yourcompany.com, that is forwarded on to each member of the sales team. For example john.doe@mycompanycom, mary.buck@mycompany.com, and steve.ewe@mycompany.com each receive a copy of all mail sent to sales@mycompany.com. No one actually checks the mail for 'sales'.
An application of a Forward might be to have all the mail for barb.ram@mycompany.com be left in Barbara's mail box for her retrieval and a copy of the message sent to Barbara's boss, jean.boss@mycompany.com. In the case of a Forward, the original recipient actually retrieves the mail and the additional recipients retrieve the mail, too.
